Storm Damage

Many homes are damaged by hail and high wind every year. Fortunately, most insurance policies will cover the loss. If your roof has been damaged by hail or wind, we can help.

Step 1

Call your insurance company right away and make an appointment with an adjustor. The adjustor will come out and evaluate exterior and interior damage. You should then receive an adjustment form listing of the damages with the amount the insurance company will cover.

Step 2

Contact AA Roofing and at least one other contractor to request an estimate. For information on selecting a contractor click here.

Compare the adjustment with our estimate. If there is a discrepancy, we will verify that your insurance adjuster has properly measured your roof provided the proper replacement costs. We have experience working with insurance adjusters to ensure you are fairly compensated.

Step 3

Once you have filed a claim, you have the right to have your claim processed and paid promptly. Generally, your insurance company must approve or deny your claim within 36 days.

The insurance company must tell you in writing why your claim or part of your claim was rejected. If your claim is approved, your insurance company must usually pay the claim within 5 business days after they notify you they have accepted your claim.

You have the right to reject any settlement amount, including any valuation, offered by the insurance company. Remember, you have the right to have your home repaired by the repair person of your choice.

They are many "contractors" that blow into town after a hail storm or high winds. They will likely be long gone when your problems start. Anyone with a pick-up truck can try their luck with roofing system that is supposed to keep the weather out of your home.

Here are some questions to ask any when selecting a contactor.

  • Do they have proof of insurance and workers compensation? If the roofing company has no insurance, any damages or personal injuries that occur may become your problem.

  • Are they able to provide a list of references for you to check out.

  • Did they assemble a 'roofing crew' from day laborers looking for a days work.
